The body of 18 year old Samantha Koenig, from Anchorage, Alaska, was found April 2, 2012 in icy waters of Matanuska Lake. Investigators believe she lost her life just hours after her armed abduction from her Espresso Coffee Stand she worked at on February 1, 2012. Israel Keyes, 34, is a suspect in this investigation.
Usually, I like to profile cold cases on here, but when I heard Samantha's story in February, I knew I had to feature it. I posted her flyer and website made by her father to help find her on different sites. I also added her on Tweet Them Home on Twitter, where I tweet the stories of missing adults and children to help get their story out there. I was really touched by her father and his remarkable, undying search for his daughter. I know my postings just barely scratch the surface, but if I can get any of their stories out to just one more person, it's worth it.
I was truly hoping we would get her home safe, that whomever had taken her would have a heart to cause her no harm, but it turned out other wise. My prayers are with Samantha, her father and all who love her. I hope you find peace and closure, as well as justice for Samantha. We are now an angel short in the world.
