Fawn Marlene Abell & Rozlin Rochelle Abell-Missing 29 Years

ON July 25, 1985, 15 year-old Fawn Abell went out with her 18 year-old sister, Rozlin, to find jobs in their hometown of Bethany, Oklahoma. Both the girls were last seen leaving their home together to meet up with some friends waiting for them down the street, equipped to do some job hunting. They have never been seen or heard from again. There case was reopened in 2010 and is very active. Both their social security numbers have not been used since they vanished in 1985, so authorities believe they may be deceased.

Fawn was 5'1" and 100 pounds at the time of her disappearance. She has red hair and blue eyes. It is not sure what clothing she was wearing at the time she disappeared, but she was wearing multicolored, long, dangly earrings.
Rozlin was 4'11" and weighed 90 pounds at the time she vanished. She has red hair and blue eyes. It is not known what she was last wearing when she vanished. Both the girls' disappearances are labeled as "Missing".

First, I will say I am very frustrated with this case because there is barely any information or coverage out there about it. Prior to 2013, I had a difficult time searching for news articles about their disappearances.  I believe due to their ages, and lack of witnesses, their disappearance was not taken seriously. I think law enforcement may have seen them as typical teenagers who ran away from home. Obviously, that is not the case, and I do not believe the girls ran away, especially with their social security numbers not being used since 1985, when they vanished.

 I believe the disappearance of Fawn and Rozlin could be related to the disappearance (and apparent murders) of Charlotte Kinsey and Cinda Pallet, from Oklahoma City in 1981. The girls were abducted by serial killer Russell Royal Long, who lured the girls away from the state fair by offering them jobs working with stuffed animals. Their remains have never been found, but due to his confession, they are presumed dead. Russell Royal Long was a serial killer who would target two young girls at a time. Some of his victims have been found, but many have not been. He worked as a truck driver and carnival worker. He was apprehended in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but it is unknown how many girls he killed-most likely he killed until he was caught. His own daughter testified he would lure young girls by offering them a job. He was caught in 1985 and put on trial.

I believe, if Russell Long was NOT caught yet as of July 25, that Fawn and Rozlin were his last victims. His home was in Wyoming, but he was constantly moving around due to his jobs, so he could have been back in the area again. Finding his exact trucking route would help, because there seemed to be a trail of tragedy where ever he went. He also had a habit of picking up two young girls at a time. For example, Charlotte Kinsey and Cinda Pallet from the state fair, Sharon Baldeagle and her friend as they were hitch hiking in Evansville, Wyoming, Carlene Brown and Christy Gross from Rawlins, Wyoming. He is also thought to have kidnapped Deborah Meyer in 1974 and Jaylene Banker in August of 1974 from a rodeo in Wyoming. The girls also fit his type, and the circumstance of how he would find girls in public places or walking down the street. His daughter claimed he liked girls 13 and under. Well, Rozlin is a very small girl, with being 4'11" at 18 years old, and Fawn is as well, so just by looks, they could pass for that age. He also would entice the girls with a live puppy, stuffed animals or job offers. Rozlin and Fawn were both out job hunting. He could have easily lured the girls in with the promise of a job.

Of course, there is not much information on Rozlin or Fawn, so that makes it a bit difficult to draw up theories, but Russel Royal Long is my number one theory. He died in prison of a heart attack in 1993. Of course it could have been a different predator entirely-look at the Lyon Sisters, young  girls who went out to the mall together to never be seen again, there are many "Russell Royal Longs" out there. We must also not forget that both these girls were known to hitch hike, and this was not an uncommon thing for teenagers to do in the 1980s. It could have been someone they knew. It could have been something accidental. I am wondering where was the last place the friends saw the Abell sisters? Were these friends guys or boyfriends by any chance? Where did they split from them? Where did they apply for jobs at? Were they approached by anyone? Did they hitch hike that day? All I know is, these girls did not run away, something put them in immediate danger that day. While no one can say who  took them, I am positive this was an abduction, and I would love to see more coverage.
Some things that would be nice to know is how there family life was, if their friends knew they had contact with anyone suspicious, what they were wearing that day, are their any witnesses? If they were job hunting in town, SOMEONE has to remember seeing them.
Their case was reopened in 2010 and is active. If you have any information about the disappearance of Fawn and Rozlin Abell, or if you happened to see them when they were applying for jobs, PLEASE contact law enforcement. Their families are hoping social media will be of help in bringing these girls home. Please share their stories as much as possible! Someone knows what happened. Please give their family the best gift ever this season!
