A Welcome, Hi, Hello from Me

Hello to all the visitors on the Missing Angels & Cold Cases site,

I cannot believe it has been almost five years since this blog has been up and running. I want to say thank you to everyone who takes the time out of their day to come on and read about our missing angels. A staggering average of 2,300 missing persons and children are reported each day in the United States alone. Thankfully, majority are recovered within the first few hours of their disappearance, thanks to wonderful programs such as the Amber Alert.
Unfortunately, there are many who are still missing. During the year of 2011 alone, 678,860 missing children and persons records were entered in the NCIC Missing Persons Datebase.
I first got interested in Missing Persons cases after hearing about the disappearance of Jacob Wetterling, a young boy from St. Joseph, MN was was abducted at gun point when biking home from a video store with his brother and a friend in 1989. He remains missing to this day. Since then, I have read about many other disappearances and about their families' efforts to find their loved ones. I cannot even imagine the pain of not only losing someone, but the pain of just not knowing.
Jacob Wetterling, abducted from St. Joseph, MN.
I feel the issue of Missing Persons is one not taken as seriously in our country. I have started this blog in memory of all the missing. My mission is to bring light to some of these cases who have grown cold and inactive. The more people that read their story and see their faces, the better. One more person in the world who is aware of their stories, is one more person who can be aware and help bring them home to their loved ones.
If you have a loved one you would like to feature on here, or any case that has touched your along the years, please make a request to me by commenting on here, or send me an e-mail at angelinafire@hotmail.com .
I make requests first priority to add on Missing Angels & Cold Cases. I try to add cases that are not as recent, and that have not received as much publicity as others.

I want to thank all the families who have let me feature their loved ones on here, as well as all the readers-you are making a difference! As of today, we have 12,000 views!

Many Blessings,
Janessa
